Knowledge
Is Infinite, Where Should You Begin?
by Christopher Johnson
There
is so much information out there from Agricultural to Zoology, how
will you ever know where to focus you studies as a Business
Professional?
Since
we were never designed to know everything, I would suggest utilizing
2 approaches:
1)
Decide what industry you want to enter. Then become the maven of that
industry to the point that when solutions are needed, your name or
business are within the top 5 recommended to call.
To
achieve this level will not be a walk in the park, it will be a
Double
Deca Ironman
Triathlon (2808
total miles). You must start to master the information by reading,
studying, research and workshops. This
is why if you are going to do anything, you must be passionate about
it. That way it will not feel like work, more like "your life's'
work".
2)
Find an area of interest, not a passion just something that will add
value and personal growth to your life. For instance a foreign
language, technology, physical fitness or a second field of study
like Psychology. None of these things will be useless to you, they will
bring added value to your life and give your mind a break from your
main focus.
For
instance my other areas of interest consist of being a Licensed
Illinois Insurance Producer for a major Insurance agency. I also am
the host of the talk radio show "Own My Own" and I plan to
start learning French and Spanish.
While
these interest do not directly involve my passion of
Entrepreneurship, they still remain useful in that industry. They
will enhance my audience range and add value to my overall service.
Start
finding things that will build your knowledge base in your industry
of choice and other interest that will enhance the overall YOU!
