TAKE CHARGE TUESDAY - DARING GREATLY - MARCH 2015 BOOK CLUB - THE COURAGE TO BE VULNERABLE

This month, Epiphany Essentials Book Club is reading Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. The book is only 7 chapters a little under 300 pages, thus far we've read a couple of chapters and must say it packs a punch!

A speech by Theodore Roosevelt inspired the post and we felt it befitting for the Take Charge Tuesday theme:

"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.  The credit belongs to the man who is actuall yin the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no ifferot withouth error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly...."

This quote screams Take Charge, Do Something, Get in the Game! Don't be on the side lines snickering talking about those on the front lines.  Whether they win or lose, succeed or fail, they are in the game, playing, trying, doing, daring greatly.

Brene Brown says a few pages later: "When we spend our lives waiting until we're perfect or bulletproof before we walk into the arena, we ultimately sacrifice relationships and opportunities that may not be recoverable, we squander our precious time, and we turn our backs on our gifts, those unique contributions that only we can make."

There are 304 days left in this year, make them count!!!!!!

You may have experienced disappointment, lack, set backs, loss etc. Nevertheless, you are still here, life goes on, and you must Take Charge, OWN your Life, and be in CONTROL.
