Financial Freedom Fridays - Wealthy People Love the "F" Word!

FaceBook has become my guilty pleasure.  I woke up 2 Sundays ago to an interesting article, a Mexican gentleman moved to Chicago, started selling corn on a corn cart and has been able to send his children to medical and law school.  The man came to America in 1997.

How is it someone can come to America, be here for a short period of time and have the ability to create wealth and change the future of their families and children?  The "F" word - FRUGAL.  Many who come to America see opportunity and they have a mission, purpose, and plan and they have their MINDSET on their plan.

They don't get wrapped up in the money, cars, and clothes the way Americans do.  They aren't concerned with wearing the latest fashions, driving the most expensive car, and living in the biggest home.  Their focus is a way out of poverty, providing for their families, providing for their children, generating wealth and pulverizing poverty.

Financial Freedom Friday's - Family Money Lessons - Sacrifice

This Thanksgiving my aunt and uncle (42 years of marriage) and my cousins (28 years of marriage) were speaking about sacrifice and financial turning points.

My uncle mentioned when he and his wife first married, they didn't have a television set.  A friend of their's had 2 television sets, so he told his wife to ask if they could borrow one for 1 week.  The friend said NO, then on my uncle knew he had to do for his wife.  My uncle spoke of working a job and choosing to walk to work instead of take the bus and save his bus fair and in 1 year with other savings he bought his first a car, a deuce and a quarter!

Nowadays it seems many don't understand sacrifice or even delayed gratification.  We live in a right now, microwave society.  We live in a society built on excuses as reasons why we can't or choose not to sacrifice.

Financial literacy should start in the home, however, many see their parents consume, consume, consume and others see their parents as frugal and assume that means broke/poor.

Making financial sacrifices in your 20s and 30s helps to ensure you will live comfortably in your 40s, 50s and beyond.

What are you willing to sacrifice now to ensure your retirement? Have you considered retirement? What age you want to retire? How much money do you need to have?

We are on the road to financial freedom and would love for all to join us.

For those in the Chicagoland area, join us at our 2016 Financial Kick-off Event

Wellness Wednesdays - Clear Skin Starts on the Inside - Oil Wins Again

Oil pulling, I was introduced to this concept earlier this year and I adopted it.  Oil pulling is simply using preferably coconut oil first thing in the morning before doing anything else to clean the toxins and germs out of your mouth.

Take a small amount of coconut oil, place it in your mouth and begin to swish it around like mouthwash.  This should be done for at least 20 minutes.  Let me tell you that 20 minutes is along time attempting to oil pull if you are not occupied with other things.  I usually prepare my water for tea, wash any dishes left over from the night before, apply my oil to my face and prep my hair to name a few things while oil pulling.

During the time of the pull DO NOT SWALLOW!  Once your 20 minutes are up, spit the contents of your mouth out into the garbage, not your sink, toilet etc., the garbage.  Then prepare some warm salt water and rinse your mouth with that.  Finally brush your teeth like usual.

We prefer to use baking soda and peroxide to brush our teeth.  As soon as we purchase a container we will make a paste using baking soda, peroxide, and coconut oil.

Healthy, natural.  Oil pulling works wonders on your oral health and has amazing benefits for your skin as well!
