Financial Freedom Fridays - Avoid Holiday Debt

Tis the season to be jolly, to spend time with family, to show one's love and appreciation to their family members through gifts.

It is not the season to go into BAD DEBT.  Love yourself, your future and the future of your family enough to not be in bad debt, sad, depressed, living check to check, getting pay day loans, or simply having to spend your hard earned money paying for 2015 bad debt in 2016.

Be creative, give gifts from the heart.  This doesn't mean you have to be cheap.  Give at the level that you have, nothing more/nothing less.  Create a budget for holiday gifts and stick to it.  And although it may be too late for 2015, the holidays come at the same time every year. Plan for the 2016 holidays at the beginning of 2016.  One doesn't have to wait until this time of year to start purchasing gifts.

How To Survive the Holidays

  • Create a Budget
  • Stick to your budget
  • Do not use credit cards unless paying the balance in full within 28 days
  • Get creative and make gifts (sentimental)
  • Plan ahead for 2016, save for purchases starting in January 2016
  • Manage expectations
  • Don't attach your worth and love to the amount of gifts being given or received
