Mindset & Motivation Mondays - Motivated Entrepreneurs Sharing Their Secrets to Success & Continued Motivation

"Success requires one to 'Be PATIENT and ENGAGE in CONSISTENT ACTION." Les Brown

In late 2014/early 2015 two young ladies Crystal Iris and Nina Speaks started a call 'Motivating the Motivators', the premise behind the call was that motivators need motivation too.  That is 100% supported by Epiphany Essentials, motivation is something that everyone needs. Most coaches have coaches, well at least the good ones do. Motivational speakers listen to other motivational speakers.  The most successful people in the world all have mentors.

We here at Epiphany Essentials decided to reach out to some successful, entrepreneurs to find out how they stay in the right mindset, what motivates them, and what keeps them going.

Entrepreneurs Motivating Entrepreneurs

Our first entrepreneur, Calvin O'Neal Russel Jr., I met Calvin at Epiphany Essentials 1st Annual Wealth Wellness and Empowerment Conference.  He was referred to my by Crystal Iris!  He is a FICO certified credit specialist.  He came to the event prepared, full of energy, and with a wealth of knowledge sharing with all the guests how to improve their credit score and stay on the right credit track.  When deciding to write this post, he was a natural choice.

"I have always understood that success would take time and persistence."

Has your mindset about business and what it takes to be successful changed since starting your business?

Not at all. I have always understood that success would take time and persistence. With my sales background, I always knew how people would respond with my services. If anything, I have gotten stronger because I control everything from top to bottom. I feel like I am doing something positive and helping the economy move in the right direction, not just making a profit from my clients.

What motivated you to start, have you ever considered quitting?

When I pulled my credit report in 2011, I knew I had some work to do if I 'was' serious about purchasing a home. I knew that many people didn’t know too much about credit scores and reports as I saw evidence at my job. I saw an opportunity to make this a profitable business and went from there. I have NEVER thought about quitting this business as I 'know' every business has its challenges. Its up to the owner of the business to decide if they are willing to push forward and create a story out of it.

What keeps you going?

I think about my family and what it would be like to be available when they need me. When my son gets older and he wants me to participate in his events and sort, I want to be able to look at my schedule and make time for him as I wanted when I was younger, for my parents towards me. Another factor is the call/text/email that I get when my clients feel that they have accomplished a goal that they set. I feel like I am a part of their life and success story. That’s what keeps me going.

If you are in need of assistance with your credit score, credit report or have credit inquiries in general, be sure to reach out to Calvin O'Neal Russel Jr!

Our next entrepreneur, Caprice O'Bryant, we met Caprice at a BOSS Network Brunch in 2015.  We were immediately inspired by her story, she is a young, ambitious woman determined to reach her goals.  She once suffered from seizures, yet has been seizure free for over a year or more and also lost her memory from her early years, however, she is committed to health, wellness, and fitness and shares her enthusiasm with others.  In late 2015, she opened her own fitness studio!

"...when you are following your dreams, the money chases you"

Has your mindset about business and what it takes to be successful changed since starting your business?

Yes and no. Yes, because I care way less about money and having a 6 & 7 figure business. I say that because when you are following your dreams, the money chases you. No, because my vision of success was changing and impacting as many lives as possible through health and fitness! The more lives I change, the more successful my business becomes.

What motivated you to start, have you ever considered quitting?

I was motivated to start my fitness business when I learned to eat right, exercise, and control my seizures. I felt it to be selfish to keep everything I've learned to myself! Health is truly wealth and I knew in my heart that opening my fitness center was my purpose! I never feel like quitting but I often feel like I need a little break! Being an entrepreneur can be intense and you are always learning but taking care of yourself first is vital!!

What keeps you going?

My faith in God keeps me going! Knowing that I am serving His people and changing my clients' lives wakes me up everyday. I have the opportunity to step in to someone's life and completely change the course of how things were going. Whether it be getting on blood pressure meds, avoiding weight loss surgery, or fighting depression. I'm in love with what I do and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

"There will always be people to doubt you, but you must be willing to stay committed no matter what."

Has your mindset about business and what it takes to be successful changed since starting your business?

Yes, it has definitely changed. When I first started my business I really didn't have a clue. I didn't know what it was I wanted or what I really wanted to accomplish. I knew it would be hard work to have a business, but I didn't know how much hard work and determination it would really be. When I first started my business, I didn't realize it would take a really strong support system, a sufficient amount of money, and a fearless confidence. I know now as a business owner the mistakes I've made in the past has only made me and my business stronger. I know now how important it is to remain consistent and to stay determined no matter what.

What motivated you to start, have you ever considered quitting?

What motivated me to start my business was after my coach helped me create breakthroughs and reach major goals. I knew the love and support she gave me was the same support and love I wanted to give to other women. When I first started my business I was not very confident at all and I wanted to quit every time I was faced with a challenge. I wanted to throw in the towel a lot, because I was scared of rejection and failure. Little did I know at the time, that there will always be opposition. There will always be people to doubt you, but you must be willing to stay committed no matter what.

What keeps you going?

What keeps me going is knowing that I was born to do this. I love to deposit and pour into other women. I love seeing women reach their full potential and walk in their purpose. Helping women brings me so much joy, because I know where I was just a few years ago. I love speaking, motivating and empowering women, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
