CHAKRA HEALING

Are you aware of Chakras?  Do you believe you have chakras? What are Chakras?

Chakras, in some Hinduist traditions and other belief systems, are centers of Prāṇa, life force, or vital energy. Chakras correspond to vital points in the physical body i.e. major plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves. Texts and teachings present different numbers of chakras.  (www.wikipedia.com)

YOU ARE YOUR WORST ENEMY

To have a successful 2013 and rest of your life you must come to grips with the fact that you are your worst enemy.  You are the reason why everything in your life is going on....yes YOU!  If you don't believe or don't want to accept that fact, you will exist more than you will live and thrive....

We all have problems in our lives that we can put into 3 categories: direct control (problems involving our own behavior); indirect control (problems involving other people's behavior); or no control (problems we can do nothing about, such as our past or situational realities). Direct control problems are solved by working on our habits.  Indirect control problems are solved by changing our methods of influence.  No control problems involve taking responsibility to change the line on the bottom on our face -- to smile, to genuinely and peacefully accept these problems and learn to live with them, even though we don't like them. (7 Habits of Highly Effective People)

In all 3 of the problem categories we have the ability to choose, be and do.  We have the ability to be proactive and not reactive.  

Reactive people say things like:

  • there's nothing I can do
  • that's just the way I am
  • I can't
  • I must
  • If only 
 Proactive people say things like:

  • Let's look at our alternatives
  • I can choose a different approach
  • I control my own feelings
  • I choose
  • I prefer
  • I will 
Truly take the time to ask yourself, am I reactive or proactive?  Are you always speaking about the things that you have to do?  If you are, STOP.  You don't have to do anything, you choose to do everything that you do for whatever reason/consequence.  You choose to go to work, you choose to go to school, you choose to shop, you choose to be angry, you choose to be happy, you CHOOSE, YOU CHOOSE, YOU CHOOSE....Let us make it a practice to stop saying what we have to do and say what we are choosing to do. (7 Habits of Highly Effective People)

So how are you your worst enemy?  We are our worst enemies because it is easier for us to blame some outside stimuli for our behavior, mood, attitude, choices/decisions then to take the responsibility and ownership over our response and our reactions.  

Consider the person who wakes up on a cloudy, rainy day and already determines the day will be bad and they will be in a bad mood.  Well of course it will if that is the initial thought focused on the entire day.  What if you woke up cheerful despite the weather (no control problem) and still chose to be happy and in good spirits and accomplish everything you wanted to that day within reason.

Yesterday, I began my morning with yoga, meditation, and devotion.  Then it came, I couldn't find my spare key needed to start my car.  Surprisingly I didn't get upset, I knew there was a logical explanation as to why I couldn't find it and just when I thought I had it figured out, I was still wrong!!! Ha, BUT I stayed calm and didn't get upset.  Usually I would have been upset about it and my mood, energy and vibrations would have changed.  I wasn't able to warm my car up in advance but life goes on.

Then, after dropping my son off, I attempted to go to the ATM, first I was on the wrong street, once I figured that out I went to the right street found the bank, parked, walked up only to realize the particular branch I was at didn't have an ATM.  I thought to myself that's stupid BUT I kept it moving, I then went to where I knew another ATM was, couldn't find it LOL.  Finally, I came across a Walgreens at 7:30A and hoped it was open, walked in didn't see an ATM in the front look up and there one was in the back of the store.  Problem solved and through out the entire process I didn't become frustrated or upset (I'm beginning to shock myself but loving the new me!).  Once that problem was solved I read some foolishness on my text message.  I tweeted about my morning and while tweeting I was smiling and laughing, as when I woke up I declared that today was going to be a good day, it was a part of my devotion.  So, I laughed at the things that happened that I could have ALLOWED to cause me to have a bad day but I CHOSE to have a good, happy day.  Oh and how could I forget, once I arrived downtown I decided to treat myself to a hot chocolate and a red velvet donut.  Well, the red velvets are gone because the holidays are over, no biggie, I ordered a muffin and kept it moving.  Yesterday, I had a great day!!!!!!

How many would have been upset, frustrated or thrown off by a morning like that?  How many would have declared they were having a bad day and nothing was going right?  

THOUGHTS AND WORDS ARE EVERYTHING....Despite what happens in and through out your day you are RESPONSE ABLE or responsible for YOU!!!!!!

I now recognize my son allows outside stimuli to affect him.  Some of this is because of how he's seen myself and other adults respond to different things we encounter so my goal is to teach him he has the ability to control his responses.  The best teacher, lead by example. He's reading his own devotion everyday and it covers a lot of topics similar so with time, patience and repetition I'm confident he will get it and grow into a Proactive young man.

So, back to you, yes you, YOU ARE YOUR WORST ENEMY.....

Things will happen to you, around you, for you etc.  BUT YOU CHOOSE, YOU ARE RESPONSE ABLE, you determine if it sends you to a depression or if you simply learn the lesson from the situation and move on, happy and proactive.

I encourage you to read the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.  It's not the typical "self-help" book.  I consider it a "self-help" book but it isn't filled with a lot of quotes and motivational/inspirational words.  It makes you take a long hard look at SELF, how you respond, speak, think, what you focus on in YOUR life and how you may be overly judgmental in the lives of others.  The book takes a step by step approach but it works on changing people from the inside out. Not the outside-in method.....

Before you blame the economy, government, children, parents, friends, family, weather, etc. for whatever is going on in your life or for the feelings you are having remember that you are RESPONSE ABLE and the one thing you control is your thoughts and actions.   YOU CHOOSE!!!!!

52 WEEK SAVINGS CHALLENGE

A friend text me a message that included the image below and said let's do it.  I was immediately excited and all for it.  Now admittedly, I am a great saver BUT this is something that I'm doing in addition to my regular savings as it just makes sense to do it too because it requires so little week to week.

What's the challenge starting week 1 of 2013, multiply $1 by the # week you're in and save that much.  So week 1 = $1, week 2 = $2, week 3 = $3, etc.....now that may not seem like much BUT at the end of the year week 52 you will have saved over $1300!!!! Not bad huh?

We are here to encourage, enspire, enform, and empower.....we spoke about saving, weight loss - usually the top 2 resolutions of the year and we are also providing solutions for how you can make it happen.

Who's In Control? God, The Devil or You

Last week while doing my daily yoga and meditation these thoughts came to me.  I hear so many people and read many posts about how they are under the attack of the devil, the devil caused them to have a bad day, people are testing their patience its the devil, the kids are acting up, etc. whatever and its always the devil that must be attacking.

How about....have you ever thought....that it is your own mind and your reaction to things?  Maybe people don't read the Bible the same way I do, probably not, understandably that is OK.  I think about when we are first introduced to the enemy, a snake spoke to Eve and told her if she ate from the tree she would be like The Most High.  Now let's think about this story, do animals speak to any of us? Has an animal ever spoken to you?  Is it possible that the serpent was Eve's own toxic thoughts? Her ability to think for herself and her own free will? Just a thought! 

Anyway, the serpent planted the seed in Eve's mind, Eve in turn planted the seed in Adam's mind, they allowed it to grow and Adam CHOSE to eat from the tree.  The devil didn't make him do it Adam made a CHOICE/DECISION to DISOBEY his Creator.  Which as the story tells introduced sin into the world.  

We have to always remember that we have FREE WILL the ability to CHOOSE and make DECISIONS and there are consequences for our thoughts and actions.  "Do not be deceived, the Most High cannot be mocked, a man reaps what he sows". Galatians 6:7  What are you sowing?  Are you sowing confusion, dissension, gossip, lack thoughts, defeat, depression, hatred, lies, etc...whatever negative you sow you shall reap, whatever positive you sow you shall reap.  May your good outweigh your bad.

This is not to negate the fact that the rain shall fall on the JUST and the UNJUST but your FOUNDATION of FAITH, LOVE (G-D), KINDNESS, SELF-CONTROL, JOY, AND PEACE will prevent you from being shaken.  So no its not the devil it is your own THOUGHTS.  Even when Satan tempted Jesus in the desert, he tempted Jesus with the Word but what Satan didn't realize was Jesus was the Word therefore he could not out smart or trick Jesus for Jesus was created before the foundation of the earth was laid.  Jesus' faith was in his CREATOR.  Satan used the same tempting techniques that he tried on Adam and Eve. How about Joseph, was Joseph consistently being attacked by Satan because he was left for dead, enslaved, imprisoned, etc?  I say NO.  Not once did you see Joseph asking why he'd been fore saken, why was he being punished etc. Why? Because of his mindset, his thoughts.  Joseph could have become down on himself and gave up on his dream that his brothers would bow to him BUT he didn't and his dream was fulfilled over 15 years later BUT it came to pass .  

THOUGHTS ARE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOUGHTS STRONGLY DETERMINE YOUR OUTLOOK NO MATTER THE OUTCOME OF THE SITUATION!!!!!!!!


Consider Job, Satan asked the Most High's permission to prove to Him that Job only worshipped and served because of his great wealth, possessions, and abundance.  God said have at it!  How many of us would have denounced God?  How many of us would have assumed we did something wrong?  How many of us would have let others convince us of our shortcomings? Now Job did say that which he had FEARED the most came upon him!!! The Most High did not give us a spirit of FEAR. 

So how are you letting FEAR and other things shake your faith therefore inviting the devil in and giving him a foot hole into your life???????

 I Peter 5:8 "8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."  Now you may take sober mind to mean free of drugs and alcohol, I will take it further to mean that a sober mind...."Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." Philippians 4:8.  A sober mind is focused on God, Love, what is true, noble etc.

In the same way, how are you in faith, through love, with joy and peace allowing God to show up and show out in your life.  Yes that said ALLOWING! In Matthew 9:29 and other acts when Jesus heals it was according to the persons faith.  God can not do more in our lives than our FAITH allows Him to do.  We have to believe and have faith in order for God to be God in our lives....

Where is your faith? What are you believing?  Do you have faith? Now Faith, is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1....Take a look at the first 2 words.  Now Faith, Faith is NOW......NOW.....NOW.....if you see yourself married, walk in it, talk in it, speak over it, pray over it, meditate on it...don't say when, claim it in the NOW.  If you see yourself as a graduate, professional, entrepreneur, self-employed, with children, whatever it is exercise your NOW FAITH, claim it, receive it, believe it and act as if it is already done for there is no time and space with God or in the spirit.

So to the topic of this blog, who's in control? Is it you, The Devil or The Most High?  We have to begin to take ownership, responsibility and accountability for our thoughts, decisions, choices, actions, behaviors, and consequences (good or bad!)....

Let Kids Be Kids....

Yesterday, as I looked in my sons room and saw his coat hanging from a chair, dirty clothes on the floor, half empty chip bags on his table, and a piece of an uneaten oatmeal creme pie in his toy box....I amazingly stayed calm!  A few months ago I would have flipped out on him.  He was in the bath tub and asked me to bring some toys.  When I took the toys in the bathroom, I politely mentioned the oatmeal creme pie in the toy box, the chips etc. and requested that he clean up after putting on his PJs.  He completely ignored my request......

Then I thought back to when I was a child.  I remember the nights my dad said he wanted me to wash the dishes.  I would say OK then politely get up, go to my room and get in the bed!  Only one morning at 4A did my dad ever wake me up to do it.  I also think back to when I was about my sons age, I would put clean clothes in the dirty clothes hamper because I didn't want to put them away.  Oh my, when my mother figured it out she was pissed but her solution was I had to wash my own clothes.  I've been washing my clothes since I was 9 years old.

As I laid in bed last night I began thinking and reflecting.  Heck at my age I don't always want to hang up my coat, or put my things away immediately, I know better, sometimes I do it regularly and consistently, sometimes I don't and that's OK.  So why in the world would I expect my 7 year old to be so consistent with the responsibility? 

The Bible says to train a child up....I'm and I'm sure the parents reading this are doing just that, training their children and instilling values about health, hygeine, eating habits, cleanliness etc. but at the same time we have to let them be kids and find their own way.  If my son behaved like an adult and did everything he was supposed to do and right, he wouldn't need a parent.  Now don't get me wrong there are the children that do all of these things and that is awesome if they do BUT the majority of us, if we think back to our own childhoods we heard our parents but we didn't listen ALL the time.  However, now that we are older we do what we know what we are supposed to do because we are mature.  Well at least I hope so.

Someone tweeted this verse yesterday and I had another aha moment. 1 Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me."   Again kids will be kids.  As parents our responsibility is to train them, lead them, provide wisdom and guidance yet we also must be UNDERSTANDING.  Our children will make mistakes that they will hopefully learn valuable lessons from.  It would be great if they don't make the same mistakes we did as I read "a wise man learns from others mistakes while a fool learns from his own." Nevertheless they will make mistakes, hopefully nothing to detrimental or damaging.  At best we can expose our children to wisdom, give them the tools and keep the faith that they use them.  The Bible also says, when they get older they shall not part from it.  I like the way Creflo Dollar said, that doesn't mean there won't be some mess in between childhood and adulthood BUT what is instilled will eventually be applied.  We cannot control our childrens lives, make decisions for them, and constantly have an I told you so attitude, as much as a lot of parents want to!!!!

The Most High doesn't do us that way and our Creator knows that we know better.  We have to trust that we've given our children all they need to be successful adults.  My age of letting go is going to be 21, letting go in the sense that I've raised my children and now I'm a listening ear providing guidance and wisdom still but as a counselor not a warden.

Best believe he will be cleaning his room up when he comes home from school today though!!!!!!!!
