Last week while doing my daily yoga and meditation these thoughts came to me. I hear so many people and read many posts about how they are under the attack of the devil, the devil caused them to have a bad day, people are testing their patience its the devil, the kids are acting up, etc. whatever and its always the devil that must be attacking.
How about....have you ever thought....that it is your own mind and your reaction to things? Maybe people don't read the Bible the same way I do, probably not, understandably that is OK. I think about when we are first introduced to the enemy, a snake spoke to Eve and told her if she ate from the tree she would be like The Most High. Now let's think about this story, do animals speak to any of us? Has an animal ever spoken to you? Is it possible that the serpent was Eve's own toxic thoughts? Her ability to think for herself and her own free will? Just a thought!
Anyway, the serpent planted the seed in Eve's mind, Eve in turn planted the seed in Adam's mind, they allowed it to grow and Adam CHOSE to eat from the tree. The devil didn't make him do it Adam made a CHOICE/DECISION to DISOBEY his Creator. Which as the story tells introduced sin into the world.
We have to always remember that we have FREE WILL the ability to CHOOSE and make DECISIONS and there are consequences for our thoughts and actions. "Do not be deceived, the Most High cannot be mocked, a man reaps what he sows". Galatians 6:7 What are you sowing? Are you sowing confusion, dissension, gossip, lack thoughts, defeat, depression, hatred, lies, etc...whatever negative you sow you shall reap, whatever positive you sow you shall reap. May your good outweigh your bad.
This is not to negate the fact that the rain shall fall on the JUST and the UNJUST but your FOUNDATION of FAITH, LOVE (G-D), KINDNESS, SELF-CONTROL, JOY, AND PEACE will prevent you from being shaken. So no its not the devil it is your own THOUGHTS. Even when Satan tempted Jesus in the desert, he tempted Jesus with
the Word but what Satan didn't realize was Jesus was the Word therefore
he could not out smart or trick Jesus for Jesus was created before the
foundation of the earth was laid. Jesus' faith was in his CREATOR. Satan used
the same tempting techniques that he tried on Adam and Eve. How about Joseph, was
Joseph consistently being attacked by Satan because he was left for
dead, enslaved, imprisoned, etc? I say NO. Not once did you see Joseph
asking why he'd been fore saken, why was he being punished etc. Why?
Because of his mindset, his thoughts. Joseph could have become down on
himself and gave up on his dream that his brothers would bow to him BUT
he didn't and his dream was fulfilled over 15 years later BUT it came to pass .
THOUGHTS ARE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOUGHTS STRONGLY DETERMINE YOUR OUTLOOK NO MATTER THE OUTCOME OF THE SITUATION!!!!!!!!
Consider Job, Satan asked the Most High's permission to prove to Him that Job only worshipped and served because of his great wealth, possessions, and abundance. God said have at it! How many of us would have denounced God? How many of us would have assumed we did something wrong? How many of us would have let others convince us of our shortcomings? Now Job did say that which he had FEARED the most came upon him!!! The Most High did not give us a spirit of FEAR.
So how are you letting FEAR and other things shake your faith therefore inviting the devil in and giving him a foot hole into your life???????
I Peter 5:8 "8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." Now you may take sober mind to mean free of drugs and alcohol, I will take it further to mean that a sober mind...."Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is
right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if
anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." Philippians 4:8. A sober mind is focused on God, Love, what is true, noble etc.
In the same way, how are you in faith, through love, with joy and peace allowing God to show up and show out in your life. Yes that said ALLOWING! In Matthew 9:29 and other acts when Jesus heals it was according to the persons faith. God can not do more in our lives than our FAITH allows Him to do. We have to believe and have faith in order for God to be God in our lives....
Where is your faith? What are you believing? Do you have faith? Now Faith, is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1....Take a look at the first 2 words. Now Faith, Faith is NOW......NOW.....NOW.....if you see yourself married, walk in it, talk in it, speak over it, pray over it, meditate on it...don't say when, claim it in the NOW. If you see yourself as a graduate, professional, entrepreneur, self-employed, with children, whatever it is exercise your NOW FAITH, claim it, receive it, believe it and act as if it is already done for there is no time and space with God or in the spirit.
