WEEKEND WITH THE KIDS

Chicago Garden Buddies Winter Celebration. Indoor winter garden celebration features winter-themed nature crafts, take-home paintings, stories, games and demonstrations. 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. North Suburbs Native American Program. Celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the museum and explore the various tribes that lived in Illinois. Indiana Owl Banding in the Dunes. Learn about this amazing new research and education project going on in the dunes. Meet fellow owl fans at the Nature Center auditorium for a look at the tiny saw-whet owl and tour the owl banding nets to see if any owls were caught.
