BACK TO SCHOOL

The Chicago Public Schools are currently accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year. The application deadline is December 19, 2009.

All parents understand; your child is not required to attend the school in their neighborhood. Explore all of your options by visiting www.cps.edu and printing out the Options for Knowledge booklet. You can research schools and learn the difference between open enrollment, magnet, charter, classical, regionally gifted, majority-to-minority, and international baccalaureate schools.

YES THERE ARE GREAT PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN CHICAGO!

I am grateful that my mother did her research and I attended Mark T. Skinner School which was a Classical school (1st - 6th grade) and it was a great experience!

Be informed as a parent and do your research look at average test scores, activities and other things that you feel are important for your children to have to get the best education possible. Whatever you feel they are not getting at school make up for it at home, there are tons of websites, educational games, books, etc. that can enhance and enrich your child’s educational needs.

My son will be entering Kindergarten in 2010 and I am so excited!

Again be informed and do what you feel is best for your child. Remember you always have options!

Be a blessing and be blessed,
