Maid/Chef/ATM/Caretaker...Oh I'm a Mom!

Pamela MW, 30, Sweden "Ok a review has been made and we need to add party planner/ personal chauffer/personal assistant/ to the stack of maid/chef/carpenter/plumber/ATM/washer/security guard/nurse/teacher/caretaker but it still seem to be so much easier just to call me MOM!"

Whether you live in the US or any other country, the role of mother is never easy and maybe more difficult when you are a single mother. As you see above you aren't just a mom you are many things to your children. Do not allow your many titles/roles to turn into self-neglect.

All mothers should take time for themselves on a regular basis to relax and rejuvenate. You cannot be super mom/woman if you don't take care of yourself. This time could involve exercise, walks alone in the park, pampering, reading a good book, or watching a good movie, alone or with friends, significant other etc. just away from the kids.

When you are the best person you can be then you can be the best mom, girlfriend, wife, employee etc. If you don't take care of yourself some of your efforts will go in vain. Some mothers think they have to take care of everyone else first and put themselves last. Don't mistake it however; there will be times when you will have to sacrifice something you want because of the need of your child. However, if you daily put yourself last and take no time for yourself you will find yourself frustrated, upset, confused, worn out, tired.

The best reward for your job is raising a child that turns out to be a productive member of society that thinks independently and can take care of them self!

Be a blessing and be blessed,
