SINGLE MOTHERS - NO EXCUSES

Single moms I cannot begin to tell you how blessed I was at the 1st Annual Praying Single Mother's conference www.psmothers.ning.com . Laveda Jones' mother Frances Jones gave her testimony and while I was listening I was thanking God for I realized at that moment how blessed I was.

Frances Jones has 4 kids and she raised them alone and starting out she had little money. She spoke of how she would wait for her kids to finish eating and eat the scraps off of their plates. She spoke of having to buy them used underwear, she said she was just bleach them until she couldn't bleach them anymore. She spoke of having to cut up pillow cases to use for pampers. How she would go to the thrift store and buy clothes that were too big and take them in or buy clothes too small and add to them (if that was all that was available) so her kids had something to wear.
Despite all of that she said that her children were clean everyday and dressed to the 9's when they walked out of the house. If all they had to eat were beans they were full and well fed!
Therefore, she refused to accept disrespect from her children as she worked too hard and went through too much to provide for them. Even to this day as they are adults she will not accept disrespect.

She ended it by telling her don't say in this day and age that you can't do it, that you can't keep your children clothed and fed, that you can't find a way or make one. Do whatever it takes to raise your children.

So to all my single mothers NO MORE EXCUSES. Do whatever it takes to raise God fearing, godly children that are productive members of society. Also look at Frances' story and reflect on how truly blessed you are!

Be a blessing and be blessed,
